摘要：The invention relates to a system and method for detecting individuals orobjects passing through an entrance-exit (4) of a defined space (2). According to theinvention, the individual or object is equipped with a portable electronic unit (40) which isused to detect the direction of passage. For this purpose, said unit receives first andsecond electromagnetic signals (a, b) which are emitted respectively in first and secondcommunication areas (A, B). The aforementioned communication areas are spatiallyseparated from one another and partially overlap. Moreover, each of said first andsecond areas pass through an entrance-exit zone (32) which is defined by the entrance-exit. The first and second electromagnetic signals are emitted more or less in phase andat the same frequency, each of said signals comprising an identical message portion (100).One of said first or second electromagnetic signals comprises an additional messageportion (150) which identifies the corresponding communication area (A, B). The emissionof the other of said first or second electromagnetic signals is interrupted during theemission of the additional message portion.
